Lakewood WWV Camp, Inc., is a 501 (c) (3) public charity.
This lush property sits on 336 acres surrounded by 1,000 acres of Wisconsin nature preserve of the most picturesque land Wisconsin has to offer. Beautiful green fairways and luscious leafy trees line the magnificent 71.1 USGA ranked 18-hole golf course. The private members-only 120-acre course includes 42 bunkers and several water hazards with three sets of tees for different skill levels. Aim for a par 71 as you enjoy leisurely play along the perfectly manicured and immaculately maintained land.
Cabins and grounds will serve as a retreat facility for veterans and Gold Star families, offering a space to reconnect and work on regaining a normal after-service life.
The retreat facility, grounds, and golf course is supported by members and corporate donors.
The camp visit will be completely free for qualifying families.
Five families will stay for one week in one of five 2-bedroom cabins overlooking our 75 acre lake.
We will offer organizations 1-week blocks for 5 families with an option for more weeks
if the organization has enough potential families.
The cabins are roughly 800 square feet and feature a loft. Each can house up to 10 people.
They are full-service with Wi-Fi, heating, AC and feature 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a small kitchenette, dining area, seating area on the deck, picnic table, and outdoor fire pit.
All of the cabins will be ADA accessible.
Visiting families will check-in between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Sundays.
They will meet with the camp director, and discuss which activities they would enjoy most during their stay.
Check-out will be the following Saturday morning by 11:00 AM.
Our goal is to maximize each guest’s overall enjoyment of the property through activities that fulfill them
The camp will offer enjoyment of 225 acres with all of its recreational amenities.
Lake activities include paddle boarding, canoeing, fishing, paddle boating, kayaking, and hiking along a lakefront path.
There are also multiple paths throughout the entire property including in wooded areas with scenic views of the lake. In addition, there is a swimming pool available for use as well as a wide variety of games like bocce, croquet, pickleball, and tennis. Our horses will be available to ride with riding lessons upon request. In the winter, activities like snowshoeing, hiking, ice skating, and ice fishing can be enjoyed.
Meals will be provided at the lighthouse, which will serve as the activity center with an outside area including a deck and fire pit.
Camp personnel will include a house and facilities director.
A children’s day camp coordinator will conduct a kids’ mini-camp from 9 to 3 daily (Monday through Friday),
allowing parents free time to enjoy other activities.
Part-time specialists in horseback riding, golf, tennis, fitness training, physical therapy, and massage services
will visit to assist guests in the various activities throughout their visit.
Many other camp activities such as nightly cookouts, campfires, kids’ productions and games will be included.
